Rcifax™ is a licensed generic of Xifaxan® produced by Lupin Ltd®, a US FDA certified manufacturer, in India. It’s an antibiotic used to treat irritable bowel syndrome with diarrhea (IBS-D) in adults, and travelers’ diarrhea caused by noninvasive strains of E. coli. It’s also used off-label to treat SIBO. The typically prescribed course for treatment of SIBO is 550 mg three times a day for 2 weeks.
